Business Development Research Manager

Job Requirements:

The successful candidate will have 3 main job requirements:

1) Business Development – Identify and secure new clients

2) Project Coordinator - Manage teams of onsite interviewers

3) Research Consulting -  All aspects of managing market research projects


1) Business Development:

We're seeking an energetic and results-oriented sales manager to lead our growth initiatives. You will identify and secure new client partnerships, leverage our unique intercept interviewing expertise and many other company strengths.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and acquire new clients: Identify potential clients in target industries – other research companies in Canada and around the world, government organizations –      municipal, provincial,  federal, First Nations across Canada, and other businesses across Canada.  Applicant will utilize cold outreach, networking events, and digital channels, aiming to grow our client base.
  • Sales Strategy & Reporting: Develop and execute business development strategies and provide regular updates to leadership.

2) Project Coordinator: 

When our company project workload requires, the successful applicant will manage teams of interviewers that are conducting face-to-face interviewing projects. This includes recruiting, training, and managing interviewers, as well as communicating with clients to successfully execute the project. You will work from our office in Vernon, so interactions with interviewers and clients are through telephone, email and text.

3) Research Consulting:

With experience, the applicant will eventually complete all aspects of research management. Generate proposals; design questionnaires; program online surveys; generate statistical tables; generate results: data files, tabular results and full written reports. 

  

Overall Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 2+ years experience in business-to-business sales
  • A background managing people or market research or human resources would be an asset.
  • Attributes: Self-motivated, resilient, and adaptable—ideal for a small-team      environment where you'll wear multiple hats. 

· Friendly, Personable - The successful applicant will be excellent working with people and eager to please clients. Polite and professional communication with contracted interviewers and clients.

· Detail Oriented – must be able to pay attention to all details of a project, making sure nothing is forgotten. The end goal is to meet or exceed the expectations of all clients.

· Dedicated, Reliable – making sure a project is completed to the client’s satisfaction – this could require after business hours communications with interviewers and clients.

· Intelligent, Quick Learner - Must be able to adapt to a variety of projects. 

· Experience working with MS Word and Excel and be comfortable working with computers. SPSS experience would be a bonus.

· A bachelor's degree is preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.


Job Type: Full-time

Work Location: In person in Vernon BC

Wage:  Dependent on experience
